The government came in to support farmers by introducing and inventing new harvesting and processing methods that could help them save time and produce more.
This helped them meet the growing demand for cashew nuts and within no time, they were producing enough cashew nuts to meet all their market demands.
Farmers in Vietnam learned new methods of planting and farming cashews and went on to encourage even more farmers to take on cashew planting. It is because of these efforts that more groups and even agencies came up to support and improve cashew farming in Vietnam.
Cashew Nuts Price in Vietnam
In 2021, Vietnam’s cashew nut exports were valued at just above 3 billion US Dollars. This was a slight increase over the previous year’s figure.
The sharpest climb was between 2016 and 2017 when the export value increased from 2 billion US dollars to just above 3 billion US dollars.

Price of Cashew Nuts per kg in Vietnam
One kilogram of raw cashew nuts in Vietnam falls within the range of VND 50,000 and VND 150,000 per kilogram.
Raw cashew nuts are the unprocessed form of cashews and are sold between VND 20,000 to VND 30,000 per kilogram. This is because they have to go through processing and roasting after this.
Salted cashew nuts are cashews that have been roasted and seasoned with salt. This seasoning is what sometimes makes them a little price but they cost between VND 50,000 to VND 80,000 per kilogram.

The price for cashews in Vietnam changes when you buy them in bulk. For example, the price of 5 or 10 kg would be much reduced and would cost between VND 40,000 and VND 60,000 per kilogram.
Another thing that affects the prices is seasons and the demand for cashew nuts. Harvesting season always means there are plenty of nuts hence prices may be lower. Planting seasons means the demand could be high and the supply low hence the prices may go up significantly.
Either way, the supply and demand for cashew nuts in Vietnam is balanced and there is always enough cashews for the market.
