In 2022, cashew imports into Ukraine were worth approximately 7 million US Dollars. Although this was a decrease from the previous year, it was another high-value record.
The sharpest climb was from 2017 to 2018 when the import value rose from about 3 million US Dollars to over 5 million US Dollars.

The price of one kilogram of raw cashew nuts in Ukraine costs between UAH 158.00 to UAH 263.34 per kilogram (US$ 4.32 – US$ 7.20 per kilogram) on the retail market and US$ 3.02 to US$ 5.04 per kilogram on the wholesale market.
Although these prices are steady throughout many seasons, they are influenced by the larger market supply and demand. When the market goes through a low season when producing countries have a low harvest, and the demand for cashews on the market is high, leads to an increase in cashew prices.
By the time the consumer is getting the final price in the market, some costs have been incorporated in the chain such as processing, transport, packaging, and profit frames.

Ukraine imports different kinds of cashew nuts in different grades, shelled, raw, and roasted to other cashew products like cashew milk.
Generally, there are 36 grades of cashew nuts but the common ones in the marketplace are 26. Cashews are graded based on their size, and taste. And the larger the nuts, the more tastier and nutritious they are.
The type of cashew grades also determines the pricing and can range from average to expensive depending on the use and consumers’ preference.
